More than 10 years ago, Mr. Tran QuocDung's family in Phu Loc village, Hoa Thang commune, Phu Hoa district belongedto poor households. The cottage walls, the couple were working as hired labor allday but still did not have enough expenses to feed 5 mouths. Seeing this, therepresentative of the Village Farmers' Association instructed Mr. Dung to makea dossier of poor household loans from VBSP.
With 15 million loan, Mr. Dung bought cowsto raise and thin herd. Big bull, he sold less to pay the debt, and thenre-borrowed the loans to near-poor households to raise livestock. By 2016, Mr.Dung's household escaped from poverty. “Having borrowed 45 million VND toescape poverty, the loan was almost the highest at that time, I stronglyborrowed a lot of relatives money to buy 1.5 ha of land in Dong Dinh to plantpineapple.
In addition, I also intercroppedjackfruit, banana, papaya etc. on this field. Thus, every year, the family'sincome increases to about 100 million VND. This is the income level that, morethan 10 years ago, we dreamed but we didn't think we could do it ”, Mr. Dungshared.

Her family alsogradually escaped from poverty. "If there hadn’t been no bank'spreferential capital, I wouldn’t haveknown when would my family ever have money to save," Mrs. Cau said.
In order to help borrowers to use capitalefficiently and annually, all levels of the Association receiving capitalentrustments including Women's Union, Farmer's Association, Veterans'Association, Youth Union in the province have all made plans and coordinatedwith VBSP and functional departments of the locality organize training courseson agricultural, forestry and fishery extension, transfer of application ofscientific and technical advances in production, breeding ... to members. Thesetraining courses help borrowers to grasp information, knowledge and apply it topractice, bring about high economic efficiency.
According to the representative ofTay Hoa district’s Women's Union, thanks to the support of preferential loans,combining with training courses on scientific and technical transfer of animalhusbandry, cultivation, capital management methods ..., many women boldlychanged their mindset, implementation way and invest in transforming forms ofproduction and business.
Mr. Ho Van Thuc, Director of VBSP Phu Yensuggested: In the coming time, based on the characteristics of the situationand strengths of each locality, local authorities and relevant agenciesorganize special training courses for the poor to provide technical support,exchange experiences in livestock production and cultivation, technologytransfer, agricultural and fishery extension, etc. to improve the efficiency ofusing investment capital in business productivity, contribute fast andsustainable poverty reduction.
