* In the past time, what activities did Phu Yen Women'sUnion have to protect the safety and take care of the legitimate and legalrights of women and children in the province?

- In the face of potentially dangerous social situation, which may cause unsafety to womenand children as atpresent; with the function of representing the legitimate and legal interests of women, Phu Yen Women'sUnion has actively coordinated with functional agencies to care and protectmembers in such areas as: preventing violence, abuse atwomen and children,implementing food safety and hygiene, protecting environment...

In order to help women, especially women in mountainous areas, find safety, happiness and peace inthe family, the Provincial Women's Union instructs the Women's Union in SongHinh, Dong Xuan and Son Hoa districts to build the Club groups ofSayingNo with child marriage,near-blood marriage, promotepropaganda to raise awareness for members and women aboutthe dangers and consequences of near-marital marriage, child marriage...;coordinate with the Provincial Traffic Safety Board to organize training and propagating traffic safety laws...

* Vietnam Women's Union selects 2019 as the Safety Year for womenand children, in order to implement the year theme, what activities do the levels ofPhu Yen Association implement, madame?

- Implementing the Safety Year for Womenand Children launched by the Central Women’sUnion, at the beginningof the year, the Provincial Women's Union developed plans and activities, focusing onsupporting activities for women with safe environment in the family. Right after the launchingceremony on the occasion of March 8^th Women’s International Day recently, theProvincial Women's Union organized a forum to prevent abuse towomen and children. Inthe early days of April, a program to accompany with womenalong the sea borderarea has been organized.

In the near future, the Association is holding a direct dialogue with theauthorities and the Party committee in Song Hinh district on the issue of domestic violenceprevention and child abuse; coordinate with the Club of Legal Consultancy Support for Women to organize the communication to advise and supportwomen to improve legal knowledge and answer questions related to law. Throughthe Association's newsletters, incorporating knowledge, skills and experiencesto help female members improve their self-protection skills and their children in manydifferent fields.

* In addition to the Association's efforts as well as thecooperation of many levels and branches in ensuring safety for womenand children, how should women learn to protect themselves and their children,madame?

- We determine that the safety for women andchildren is theresponsibility of the whole society, which needs to join hands of many sectors andlevels. Being an organization representing the legal and legitimate rights andinterests of women, in addition to strengthening the coordination with othersectors to support knowledge, skills and experiences for members, especially vulnerable women, women with disabilities; besides, women should also actively equip,learn knowledge and skills to build happy families, prevent family violenceand abuse; care andeducate children; helpthem with comprehensive physical, intellectual and personal development. It is necessary to promptly condemnand denounce serious abuse and violence cases to women andchildren. TheAssociation will also support women with self-escape and self-protection skillsto minimize domestic violence and abuse at women andchildren...
