Towards the goal "For a green Phu Yen"

"For a green Vietnam" is the message of a program to plant 1 billion trees initiated by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. This message is supported by numerous localities, organizations, enterprises and people.

In Phu Yen, the province also chooses the message "For a green Phu Yen" to implement the project of planting 15 million trees in the period of 2021-2025. At the launching ceremony of the Tree-planting festival in the spring of Tan Suu 2021 to forever gratitude to Uncle Ho in Tuy Hoa city, numerous enterprises, organizations and individuals in and out of the province accompany Phu Yen to implement this project.

The companion of enterprises

Bao Chau Phu Yen One-member Co., Ltd is one of the afforestation and wood processing units in the province. In 2020, the company planted nearly 1,000ha of new forest, bringing its total planted forest area to more than 4,200ha, including about 1.600ha granted FSC forest certification (sustainable forest management).

In addition, the company also associates with forest management boards and forestry cooperatives in the province to plant nearly 5,000ha of forest, about 20-30% of them is large wooden forest. It also has 2 factories processing wood chips and pellets with a capacity of more than 60,000 tons per year which are mainly exported to markets in South Korea, China and Japan...

Mr Tran Dang Khoa, the company General Director, lets known: Responding to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's initiative of planting new 1 billion trees and Phu Yen's project of planting 15 million trees, at the launching ceremony, the company has supported the province with 2 million forest seedlings (equivalent to about 2 billion dongs). With the cooperation and contribution of organizations, enterprises and the  support of people, we hope that Phu Yen will successfully implement the project of planting 15 million trees towards the goal "For a green Phu Yen”.

According to Mrs Nguyen Thi Nga, Director of Dac Loc Fisheries Co., Ltd., to protect the environment and improve the living environment, it is necessary to plant more trees for more fresh air. People respect and protect nature and forest, which means protecting their own breath. “As a company in the fisheries sector, the company pays great attention to a green, clean and beautiful environment. Particularly, in the production area of about 50ha in Song Cau town, the company has invested in synchronous infrastructure, modern equipment and planted numerous trees mixed with production areas. This production area has been certified Global GAP (international standard certifying good agricultural practices) since 2013 and certified ASC since 2018 (international certification for responsibly farmed seafood which minimizes negative impacts on the environment, ecosystems, communities and ensures labor regulations)”, Mrs Nga said.

Joining hands to plant trees and forests

According to the PPC, over the past years, Phu Yen has focused on forest protection and management, implementing many programs on afforestation, forest restoration and scattering plantation. In the period of 2016-2020, the province has planted more than 32.040ha of concentrated forest; up to now the province's forested area is more than 243.875ha, increasing the forest coverage rate from 36,4% in 2015 to 45,1% in 2020. Mr. Tran Huu The, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum PPC Chairman, lets known: Responding to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's initiative, Phu Yen has implemented the project of planting 15 million trees in the period of 2021-2025, including 12 million  scattered trees and 3 million trees planted for protection forests and production forests for large timber. In addition, the management boards of protective and special-use forests, economic organizations, households and individuals have planted about 6.000 trees, contributing to environmental protection, increasing forest cover, creating beautiful natural landscapes, fresh environment and building Phu Yen province greener and worthier of living.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Pham Dai Duong affirmed: The cause of planting trees, protecting the environment and “planting” people is one of the crucial tasks in the cause of building, protecting and developing our country Vietnam. Phu Yen identifies planting trees and protecting the environment as an important, regular, continuous and permanent task to ensure the comprehensive and sustainable development of the locality and contribute to the sustainable development of the country, taking care of a better living environment for people. The Resolution of the 17^th provincial Party Committee's Congress also sets out the task of "increasing the proportion of trees in urban and rural areas, towards the goal of a green Phu Yen". Each officer, party member, soldiers and the entire people of Phu Yen province join hands together, contribute to planting trees, afforesting, creating a regular and continuous movement throughout society in order for our homeland and country to be greener, faster and more sustainable.
