Leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam FatherlandFront, comrades, compatriots, and the family of the former President observed aone-minute silence to pay their last respect to him.
On behalf of the funeral organising board and the formerPresident’s family, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh expressedthanks to mourners for their condolences and attendance at the respect-payingceremonies, the memorial service, and the burial ceremony of General Le DucAnh.
General Le Duc Anh, who served as President of Vietnam fromSeptember 1992 to December 1997, passed away on April 22 at the age of 99.
Vietnam has declared two days of national mourning for him onMay 3 and 4.
