PP19 tookplace in Phu Yen from May 6-17, with more than 100 health, education, communityexchanges, humanitarian assistance and disaster disaster support. Speaking atthe closing ceremony, Rear Admiral Murray Joe Tynch, III (Commander of theWestern Pacific Logistics Group and Commander of the Task Force combined 73),commented: PP19 had received very good support from Phu Yen, which broughtabout positive results and said this program has been held for 14 years, ofwhich 10 years was held in Vietnam. This shows that the friendship of the twocountries is getting deeper and deeper.
In the comingtime, the US will have many activities to support Vietnam, including Phu Yen.The two sides will deploy to send students to exchange and study; strengtheningactivities of environmental protection, natural disaster prevention andresponse to climate change.
Vice Chairmanof the Provincial People's Committee Phan Dinh Phung said that PP19'sactivities have achieved the objectives, requirements and brought manypractical benefits to the people and local functional forces. The provincewarmly praised the efforts of the departments, sectors and localities in theprovince to participate enthusiastically, closely coordinated with the US sideand partners in implementing activities to achieve high efficiency.
This is anopportunity to improve capacity in medical examination and treatment for people;ability to prevent, response to natural disasters as well as the ability tocoordinate with international forces in the reconstruction and mitigation oflosses caused by natural disasters in Phu Yen.
In additionto humanitarian meaning, PP19 also helps the province strengthen internationalcooperation, exchange people, strengthen understanding of the United States andinternational partners, and contribute to a comprehensive partnership inVietnam. - United States as well as solidarity between the people of the IndianOcean and Pacific countries.
