Phu Yen effectively implementing the project of 500 young intellectuals

That is the remark ofDeputy Minister Tran Anh Tuan, head of the inspection team of the Ministry ofHome Affairs after having a working session in Phu Yen province on implementingtheaforementioned scheme (piloting to choose young intellectuals to volunteer on communes, participating in rural andmountainous developmentin the period of 2013-2020).
The view of the meeting
The project of 500 young intellectuals was implemented in 34provinces, 163 districts with 500 communes throughout the country, of which,Phu Yen province has 30 members selected to participate in 30 communes of 6districts, towns and city. However, for many different reasons, the number ofremaining members is 25.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee,in general, the members of this project were assigned the tasks suitablewith their capacity and trained professional qualifications, so they quicklypromoted their strengths, which is the pioneering, proactive spirit, enthusiasm and responsibility tothe assigned work.
After being recruited to work in the locality, the memberswere facilitated by the Party Committees, the authorities of the communes tostudy and work. At the same time, the members have also actively studied,researched and learned experiences to improve their knowledge and ability to completethe jobs, andcontributed ideas to help leaders of the Communal People's Committees to well fulfillcommon tasks in the local.
Currently, there have been 23 out of 25 members to be in the Party's ranks, the remaining 2members are in the process of monitoring and completing the documents to beadmitted to the Party...
The Provincial People's Committee proposed the Ministry of HomeAffairs to consider and adopt undertakings and specific guidelines on arranging and using the members after the end of theproject; have a prioritizing policy for the members with outstandingachievements and initiatives bringing practical effects to contribute tothe socio-economic development of the locality in recruiting civil servants; at the same time, keep the currentsalary level of the members when arranged the right position and consider raising thesalary before the deadline for the members to successfully complete the taskfor 4 years or more. In the immediate future, it is necessary to extend the project from 3to 5 years...
Deputy Minister Tran Anh Tuan said that the Ministry of HomeAffairs supported the proposals of the province and would have appropriate solutions toprotect the interests of the members participating in the project. The provincealso needs to continue to pay attention to the policy regime for its members;payrolls to complete the job when the pilot program was completed, so that no one would be left behind.
