Under fiercesunshine, cadres of An Dinh Agricultural Cooperative (Tuy An district) arestill standing by the pump to ensure it run stably and supply enough water for17ha of rice frequently having drought in the summer-autumn crop. Mr. Luu ThanhToan, Director of An Dinh Agricultural Cooperative, said: The entire rice areaof people in An Dinh commune gets water from Dong Tron lake throughirrigation canal system.
However, in thedry season, there is still a lack of water in some upland areas which are farfrom water sources. To ensure water for them, the Cooperative has investednearly 30 million dongs to buy a large-capacity pump from An Nghiep commune toserve production. Farmers has sown seedsin over 95% of production area in the commune, ensuring enough water for riceto develop, grow well.
In Phu Hoa district,Hoa Tri 2 Agricultural Service Cooperative has also succeeded in organizingproduction chain linking with consuming agricultural products after harvesting.Mr. Nguyen Huu Hong, Cooperative Director, happily shared: The Cooperative hasmobilized 1.552 adjacent households to produce pure rice seeds in an area of290ha. Farmers have access to new varieties, learn advanced productionmethods and apply mechanization. After harvest, the Cooperative directly coversconsumption of products. As for rice meeting standards, the Cooperativecooperates with the Institute for Southern Coastal Central of Vietnam to offerprice of 1kilo of fresh rice equal to 1 kilo of dry rice. As for commercialrice, the Cooperative offer price which is 50 dongs per kilo higher than marketprice and sell it to food companies...
According to Mr.Cao Van Tien, Deputy Head of Tuy An district's Agriculture and RuralDevelopment Division, the locality has successfully implemented the model oflarge field in an area of 40ha, including 20ha of An Nghiep AgriculturalCooperative and 20ha of Chi Thanh town Cooperative. Thereby, the localityincreases the area of using standard rice varieties from 47% to over 72%. Inparticular, An Nghiep Agricultural Cooperative has also successfully builtbrand name of high quality rice, helping to increase economic value for AnNghiep rice seeds.
Mr. Dao Van Roa,Deputy Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Division of Tay Hoadistrict, expressed: The locality cooperates with communes and agriculturalcooperatives to guide farmers to bring mechanization into production. As aresult, 96% of area has soil made by machines, over 98% of area using combineharvesters, 12,6% of area is sowed with line sowing tool and seeding machines.Through production service, cooperatives have arranged machines reasonably,ensuring soil timely for farmers to sow and not leaving any rice in the fieldin harvest time...
