The PPC has just held a regular onlineconference to assess the situation of economy, society, national defense andsecurity in May; assessing performance of the first 6 months and deploying maintasks and solutions in the last 6 months of 2019.

In the first 6 months of 2019, the province's gross regional domesticproduct (GRDP) is estimated to increase by 9,2% over the same period; totalvalue of agriculture - forestry - fishery production is 5.738 billion dongs, anincrease of 3,5%; total retail sales of goods and service revenue reach over16.321 billion dongs, an increase of 12,2%; the average consumer price index(CPI) increases by 3,66% . The total number of tourists to Phu Yen is estimatedat 915,155 with the total revenue of 940 billion dongs in tourism activities,an increase of 24,5% over the same period.

The task of improving business investment environment, enhancingcompetitiveness indexes of PCI and DDCI continues to be paid attention. The provincehas put the Public Administration Service Center into operation and implementedinvestment promotion activities inprofessional - practical - effective manner. Since the beginning of theyear, 205 enterprises have been granted new business licenses with a totalregistered capital of 1.631 billion dongs. Total budget revenue in 6 months isestimated at 3.330 billion dongs.

Implementing the plan for the last 6 months of the year, the provincefocuses on directing to implement tasks and solutions of socio-econodevelopment and state budget estimate for 2019, striving to increase GRDP ofthe whole year by over 8,3%. Departments, sectors and localities regularlyexamine and evaluate to promptly having specific plans and solutions to developsectors and fields.

The units focus on effectively implementing plans of preventing drought,solving daily water for people; continuing to improve quality of servicesector; urging and monitoring progress of implementing basic constructionprojects and works. The province also effectively implements foreign affairsand information on international integration; strengthening promotingpotentials and advantages of the province.

The conference also consults and approves drafts of some contents accordingto the PPC working regulations, including: decision on assignment,decentralization and certification ofestablishments producing and trading agricultural, forestry and aquaticproducts; decision on working on Saturday mornings to receive administrativedocuments in the locality; resolution of the provincial People's Council onequipping fire protection facilities for civil defense forces in the province;decision on issuing regulation of one-top-shop among State agencies and theelectricity sector in order to solve procedures of supplying power throughmedium voltage network...

Addressing at the conference, PPC Chairman Pham Dai Duong lets known: Thequality of improving business investment environment and administrative reformhas not yet met requirements for current development of the province. The provincial indexes suchas PCI and PAPI are low, so without efforts, the province cannot complete themfrom now until the end of the year.

The chairman requests sectors and localities to pay attention to overcomelimitations to ensure requirements in the last 6 months; in which focusing onreviewing and developing procedures to improve indicators, targets and plans;concerning environmental work and administrative reform; facilitating domesticand foreign enterprises to invest in the province ...
