Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Secretary of theProvincial Party Committee Huynh Tan Viet emphasized: The organization of theScientific Conference "Phu Yen 30 years of innovation anddevelopment" has great significance, is the forum for delegates andexperts to exchange, discuss, summarize and evaluate the achievements in thefields and limitations of Phu Yen province after 30 years of re-establishment;thereby drawing lessons and visions for development and integration in the newera.
On the introductory report of the workshop, Chairman of theprovincial People's Committee Pham Dai Duong stated: At the beginning of theprovince re-establishment, with difficulties follow by difficulties, theprovincial economy was low, such as: total budget revenue reached only 17.9billion VND, total social products in the province reached 425.9 billion VND,national production income reached 214.1 billion VND (based on the currentprice in 1989); many areas in mountainous areas and sea areas often suffer fromhunger; transport infrastructure is in shortage and weak, many areas are verydifficult to travel, some places are even divided; The contingent of cadres,especially scientific and technical, economic management and state management staffsin some areas, has not yet met the requirements of the renovation process.
After 30 years of development, the economy of the provincehas developed strongly, the economic growth rate in each period has alwaysmaintained at a fairly high level and the economic structure shifted in theright direction; Especially, there was the year that economic growth reachedover 14%. In 2018, the province's gross domestic product (GRDP) reached VND24,925 billion, the average GRDP growth rate for the period of 1990-2018reached 9% / year. The total social investment capital by the end of 2018reached VND 15,822 billion and accumulated social investment capital by 2018reached VND 126,970 billion; More than 3,000 businesses are operating in theprovince with an average growth rate of 16.6% / year. Key economic areas havebeen formed such as Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone, High-tech AgriculturalApplication Zone and An Phu and Hoa Hiep industrial parks ... to be the drivingforce for the province's economic development.
