Inviting Korean investors to develop cooperation in Phu Yen province

On May 27th in Seoul capital (SouthKorea), Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the VietnameseEmbassy in South Korea, Asian Business Alliance (ABA - Korea) to organize thePromotion Conference for Investment and Economy of Phu Yen province in Korea.

Addressing at the opening of the conference, Chairman of theProvincial People's Committee, Mr. Pham Dai Duong highlighted the achievementsthat Phu Yen province has achieved in the past 30 years. Invested in by VietnamGovernment, Phu Yen province has developed many fields of economy - society,infrastructure and quality of human resources. So far, Phu Yen province hasconverged many favorable conditions for fast and sustainable development. Mr.Pham Dai Duong highly appreciated Korea's participation in the Vietnameseeconomy, as a leading FDI investor in Vietnam, many large corporations such asSAMSUNG, SK, Hanwa... came to Vietnam and invest successfully. He emphasizedthat Phu Yen province came to this conference with the desire of Koreaninvestors to exploit the potential and develop cooperation in Phu Yen province.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Truong Thuy, DeputyAmbassador of Vietnam in Korea warmly congratulated Phu Yen province fororganizing the first economic investment promotion conference in Korea, whichis a great effort of the province in the local socio-economic development,promoting cooperation between Phu Yen and Korean partners. At the same time, heaffirmed that the conference was held at a very appropriate time when therelationship between the two countries was very good and Korean enterpriseswere very interested in Vietnam. He welcomed Korean businesses to attend theconference of Phu Yen province and hoped the enterprises to be interested ininvesting more in Vietnam in general and Phu Yen province in particular.

Mr. Ko Ki Yeon, Head of International Cooperation Bureau (Ministryof Forestry of Korea), the representative of Korean government agenciesattended the meeting and said that this investment promotion activity of PhuYen province was one of the recent economic activities between the twocountries, which showed the close and potential development relationshipbetween Vietnam and Korea.

The Asian Business Alliance - the co-organizer of the conferencewith Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee - affirmed the Korean enterprises'interest in Phu Yen province. Mr. Lee Kyung Man, Chairman of ABA committed tocooperate with the province in strengthening the attraction of Koreaninvestment in Phu Yen; promote trade and tourism development; regularly updatethe list of priority projects and investment attraction policies, shareinformation on Korean companies' activities, the needs and strengths of Koreaninvestors interested in Phu Yen province; create conditions for Koreaninvestors, trading and tourism companies to establish practical businessrelations with Phu Yen’s partners, contributing to the sustainable developmentof Phu Yen province.

Before that, the delegation of Phu Yen province visited and workedwith the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea. Talking with Phu Yen delegation,Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tu highly appreciated Phu Yen's determination inattracting Korean investors. Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tu also said that althoughVietnam - Korea economic and investment trade relations have developed verywell, the two sides still have plenty of aspects to upgrade and expand more inall fields. Therefore, there are many conditions for Phu Yen province to developrelations with Korean partners. "In addition to the natural advantages,Phu Yen province needs to focus on human factors, training Korean language, understandingKorean culture and people. Believing that the attraction of Korean investmentin Phu Yen province in the coming time will be more prosperous,” emphasizedAmbassador Nguyen Vu Tu.
