Recently, theHan River Incubation Center (Songhan Incubator) cooperated with Phu YenDepartment of Science, Technology, Culture and Tourism to organize a smarttourism start-up workshop to inspire awareness and start-up spirit to applysmart technology, create new and unique tourism products. This is one of theactivities to concretize the project to support the national ecosystem ofinnovation start-up until 2025 (Project 844 of the Government assigned theMinistry of Science and Technology to preside over implementation).

At the 2019smart tourism startup seminar in Tuy Hoa City, the organizers introduced 4startups, of which two individuals of Phu Yen are Le Thi Tra My with a homestaybusiness model and Pham Vi Na with Co Na Banana products had initial success.Both projects are included in entrepreneurship and incubation support.

Pham Vi Nashared, she came from an official working in the health sector in themountainous district of Dong Xuan. Seeing her relatives growing the bananafields but sales with low prices in the harvest season, she experimented withplanting clean bananas and cultivating the right harvest in the Tet holiday tosell at high prices. The initial shock was more than 1,000 original bananas,which were late, right on the Tet holiday, there were only 2 stalls sold forVND 400,000, after the Tet holiday bananas’ price fell dramatically. Pham Vi Naquit her job to… sell bananas and study how to make bananas dried and soldonline for her products …

"Inorder for Banana product Co Na to stand on the market, I have many nights to worry,think, cry silently, and have to sell bananas ... Starting a business has neverbeen easy, especially for women, but If there is determination, this is achallenge for me to overcome and grow, ”Pham Vi Na confided. Ms. Tran Thi KhanhHien, head of communications for Songhan Incubator, said Co Na banana and Co Naproducts of Startup Pham Vi Na are being supported to create from the startupprogram by Songhan Incubator, trained by foreign experts. In the near future,Co Na Banana will be recorded in the capital call round of Shark Tank Vietnam.

Mr. NguyenThanh Tam, Chairman of Phu Yen Tourism Association, said: “Starting a smarttourism business is a national-scale program and there have been successfultourism projects. In the current context, the application of technology,combining unique business ideas is an inevitable trend. Hopefully, through theworkshop, through entrepreneurship competitions, Phu Yen is getting more andmore young people to join with bold ideas, support for incubation, capitalraising and development in many fields, including smart travel ”.
